At Palette Hunt, we take your privacy seriously. This privacy policy explains how we handle your data and protect your privacy.

This policy applies to the Palette Hunt mobile app on Apple and Android devices. Store-specific terms from Apple or Google may also apply to purchases made through their stores.

Face Data Collection and Use

What Face Data We Collect

We collect facial photographs in the following situations:

• Color Analysis: During onboarding, you take a selfie for AI-powered color analysis
• Studio Tools: When you choose a photo for a makeup, hair, outfit, or AI photo request

How We Use Face Data

Your facial photographs are used exclusively for:

• Color Analysis: AI analysis to determine your color season, undertones, and personalized color recommendations
• Results Display: Showing your photo with your private analysis and generated results
• Requested Generations: Creating makeup, hair, outfit, and AI photo results that you ask for
• User Experience: Keeping your chosen reference photo available across app features

We do NOT use face data for: facial recognition, identity verification, biometric identification, marketing, or advertising.

Face Data Storage and Security

• Storage Location: Face data is stored securely in Supabase cloud storage with private bucket access
• Security Measures:
  • Private storage buckets (not publicly accessible)
  • Time-limited signed URLs with automatic expiration
  • Encrypted transmission and storage
  • Access restricted to authorized app functions only
• Service Providers: Photos are sent only to cloud storage, backend, and AI processing providers needed to deliver the feature you request. These providers process data on our behalf and may not use it for their own advertising.

Face Data Retention

• Retention Period: Face data is retained while you actively use the app
• User Control: You can delete your face data and all associated information at any time through app settings
• Deletion: When you delete your data, it is removed from active app storage and databases. Residual encrypted backups, if any, expire according to our service providers' retention schedules.

Other Data Collection and Storage

Local Data

The following data is stored locally on your device:

• App preferences and settings
• Color analysis results and history
• Personal color palettes and recommendations
• Pending upload and app recovery information

Server Data

The following data is stored on our secure servers:

• Your facial photograph (as described above)
• Color analysis results and generated images
• An anonymous purchase identifier used to restore access without a login
• Subscription entitlement and Studio credit balance

Advertising Attribution and Analytics

We use AppsFlyer to understand which advertising campaigns lead to app installs, opens, trials, subscriptions, and purchases. For this purpose, the app may process an AppsFlyer identifier, app and device information, approximate location derived from an IP address, campaign information, and platform identifiers that are available under your device settings and applicable permissions.

RevenueCat sends subscription lifecycle and purchase events to AppsFlyer so revenue is measured once from the verified store transaction. AppsFlyer may send selected attribution and conversion events to Meta when we run Meta advertising campaigns. We do not send your facial photographs, color analysis images, or generated images to AppsFlyer or Meta for advertising.

Where a platform requires consent before an advertising identifier can be accessed, that identifier is not made available unless the required permission is granted. You can manage advertising and tracking choices in your Apple or Android device settings.

Your Data Control

You have complete control over your data. You can:

• Access your analysis, photos, and generated results through the app
• Remove individual generated images and reference photos
• Delete the app's stored data and anonymous profile from Settings
• Manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple or Google store account

App Permissions

Palette Hunt may request certain permissions to enhance your experience:

• Camera: To capture photos for color analysis
• Photo Library: To access existing photos for analysis or save results

You can manage these permissions through your device settings at any time.

Sharing and Export

Your analysis and generated images remain private unless you choose to export or share them using your device:

• Saving: You can save a generated image to your device photo library
• Sharing: Any sharing outside Palette Hunt is initiated by you and handled by the apps or services you select
• Control: Palette Hunt does not publish your photos or results to a public profile

Third-Party Services

We use service providers for secure cloud storage and backend hosting, AI analysis and image generation, subscription management, and advertising attribution. These include Supabase, the AI providers selected for the requested feature, RevenueCat, AppsFlyer, Meta, Apple, and Google Play. We send each provider only the data needed for its role. Face data providers may not use your photos for their own advertising; attribution providers process the limited app, device, campaign, and transaction data described above to measure advertising performance.

Data Security

We implement comprehensive security measures:

• Encryption: All data transmission and storage is encrypted
• Access Control: Strict authentication and authorization systems
• Regular Security Audits: Ongoing monitoring and security improvements
• Private Storage: Face data stored in private, non-public storage buckets

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by:

• Posting the new privacy policy in the app
• Updating the "Last Updated" date
• Sending in-app notifications for significant changes
